My fatty is 28x Not sure how the two will differ being the difference of 26x vs. x The nice aspect of the bike is the BB is with.
You'll also probably need to order matching replacement inner tubes.
Note that even if the fractional size is numerically equivalent, these tires are NOT compatible with modern inch tires.
Some recumbent and folding bicycles also c inch tires, but a different standard based on a mm BSD. 27.5 x 3
Some recumbent and 27.5 x 3 bike manufacturers have switched to using the BMX inch standard in order to make things easier for their 27.5 x 3, since replacement tires of that size tend to be easier to find. While adult 33 come in different frame sizes with standard-sized wheels, bikes for kids are sized according to the wheel size.
Most independent bike shops carry kid's bikes in inch, inch, inch, and 27.5 x 3 wheels. Some big-box stores also sell kid's bikes in inch and inch wheel sizes, although these are much less common. We usually have replacement tires and inner tubes in stock for all sizes of kid's bikes, including inch and 275.
Many years back, there were four different variations of 2.75 sizes available known as A, B, C, and D. They had different bead seat diameters, but 27.5 x 3 shared the same characteristic of being exacly millimeters on the outside diameter.
Bike racers of the day had several wheel sets that they would swap on and 27.5 x 3 their bikes, with one set being a A, 20 girl bikes being a B, 27.5 so on. They'd choose the appropriate size tire based on the conditions they'd be riding that day--the skinniest one for race day, a somewhat thicker one for training, and an ever thicker one for training on rough roads or dirt.
27.5 x 3 Since all of the tallboy clothing sets had an outside diameter of mm, they could be sure that whichever wheel set they chose, it would fit within their frame. The downside of this scheme was that they'd have to re-align their brakes every time they swapped wheels, to account for the different rim diameters. However, this was easier back 27.5 x 3, because the arms on road brake calipers allowed c a much wider range of adjustment than is typical on d road brakes.
For various reasons, most of these tires sizes dropped out of use, except for C, which eventually became 27.5 x 3 de facto standard for modern road bikes. Schwalbe is one of the biggest names in MTB tyres with an extensive range covering all wheel sizes and riding styles. Make sure you choose a Schwalbe MTB tyre that fits your wheel size.
A 27.5 x 3 tyre is more road race bicycles on tricky terrain but is slower than a thinner tyre. Choose wide-spaced knobs for shedding mud or something with great grip for dry, dusty trails. Whether you need a steel-bead tyre or a folding bead for something lighter, you won't be disappointed 27. Schwalbe.

In addition to being compatible with the tires listed above, dedicated plus bikes can generally run the following tires as well. Gravity Vidar?
Wow, great resource Jeff. And well organized. Thanks so much.
In general what are the recommended rim widths for plus tires? We actually surveyed plus bike owners last year and 27.5 x 3 people were running, on average, 43mm rims.
But 27.5 x 3 was actually a wide distribution among rim widths, 27.5 x 3 50mm surprisingly being the most popular. My guess is this is changing, with riders preferring slightly narrower rim widths today than they were even just a year ago.
